Two fun Korg and Moog apps for music creation are currently free.

Korg is offering their Kaossilator app for iOS and Android for free until March 31st. This app would regularly cost $19.99. This app is used for making tracking using layered loops with a variety of built in sounds, keys, and rhythm patterns. It is very fun to play with, and my toddler adores what she refers to as “the rainbow” app on the iPad.

Moog is offering their Minimoog Model D app for iOS for free as well. Normally you would pay $4.99. This app let’s you play with a virtual reproduction of their, you guessed it, Minimoog Model D, which if you can find it, would cost you several thousand dollars. However, Moog has added some additional features that allow you to play up to four notes at a time.

To all my students, I hope you all consider downloading these apps just like I have. I think you will have a fantastic time playing with these virtual synths, and best of all, they are free! For those of you that do, let’s talk about how we can incorporate into one of your weekly goals. I’m excited to hear what you create.

Love, Amy

Moog said that the move was done to “spread positivity, creativity, and expressivity,” while Korg says the offering is a way to “help you with a musical way to occupy your mind.”

You can download Moog’s Minimoog Model D iOS app and Korg’s Kaossilator app for iOS and Android for free while it lasts.
